It’s that time of year again. The NBA season is nearly upon us. The Houston Rockets begin their preseason on October 6th. First on the list is the 3x all-star, 2x all-NBA first team, MVP runner-up, James Harden.

After being traded to the Houston Rockets from the Oklahoma City Thunder shortly before the 2012-2013 season, it didn’t take long for James Harden to become the face of the franchise for the Rockets. Harden was the perfect fit for Daryl Morey’s system, a player who loved to get to the line, shoot threes, and limit shots from the mid-range.
The Rockets then acquired Dwight Howard a season later, and the duo has worked on chemistry and leadership since then, culminating in a trip to the Western Conference Finals this past season. The Rockets return much of the same squad as last season, but a new arrival in the form of point guard Ty Lawson may change Harden’s role on a nightly basis.
