As the 2015-16 NBA season quickly approaches, rookies all over the league are getting ready to achieve their lifetime dream. When the Rockets open their preseason schedule next Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies, there will be two rookies living the dream in Houston. After helping the Wisconsin Badgers reach the NCAA championship, the Houston Rockets selected 21-year old Sam Dekker in this year’s draft. Although a back injury did not allow him to play during the Summer League, Dekker may still become a valuable player off the Rockets bench in his first season.
For Fans that are not familiar with Dekker, let’s take a moment getting to know the rookie who has always been highly rated over the years. The Rockets might have gotten a steal in their draft choice. After all, not every high school player can be named Wisconsin’s Mr. Basketball as a senior in high school. (2012)
