Q16: Who is more valuable to the squad Thornton or Jason Terry and why?

Andre: Jason Terry is much more valuable to the squad. He’s got championship experience, can still knock shots beyond the arc and is a leader in the locker room. As far as Thornton is concerned…I’m not so sure.

Anthony: Definitely the Jet, the guy is 38 but plays with the energy and hustle of a rookie. Never takes a play off. Thornton like any shooting dominant player lacks in effort when his shot isn’t falling.

Coty: I think Marcus Thornton will have more of an impact to the Rockets than Jason Terry. I think Thornton can do more for the Rockets than Terry can at this point in his career. Thornton is more of a versatile guard that will return to his peak form in Houston.

Eric: This is such a tough question for me, because I love the signing of Thornton and the resigning of Terry. Although Thornton can be the x-factor if he returns to his peak level, I think Terry will play a more important role this season, especially as more of a player-coach.

  • John: Jason Terry is a consistent veteran player in this league, he’s been at it for 17 years not many guys get to say that. As well as he has been a part of a Championship team, so his ability to mentor the younger guys and show them what it takes day in and day out, will prove to be beyond valuable this season. It will be like having an extra coach on the bench.

Joshua: Jason Terry. Both players will only have a minimal impact on the floor. Terry’s leadership and veteran experience is more valuable to the team than Thornton’s offense behind Harden. Harden looks towards Terry for leadership, and that in turn makes Terry a more important part of the roster.

Trey: Thornton will be more valuable than Jason Terry because Thornton has the ability to be the 3rd or 4th highest scorer on the team, Terry not so much.

Tamberlyn: Off the court, definitely Terry. On the court Thornton could be more valuable especially if he gets hot and goes on a run over a couple weeks. Then again, Terry is used to hitting game winning daggers when you least expect it. At the end of the day Harden was involved in the pitch to retain Terry so that speaks volumes.
