Entering the weekend the Houston Rockets are off until Sunday evening at 7:00 pm EST when they’ll face the upstart Orlando Magic in their third preseason game. They’ll be at home in Texas, but not at the Toyota Center, rather they’ll play in Hidalgo Texas at the State Farm Arena.

For today’s Rocket Science offering I chose to focus on the week’s best articles featuring commentary on the MVP debate both from last season and this coming season. And, in my personal favorite article of the week I’m left to wonder yet again why the Clippers just can’t admit they choked!

Earlier this week’s Fran Blinebury article  reignited the James Harden versus Stephen Curry MVP debate from last season.  Curry’s response was to try to snuff out the flame before it could gain any leverage. Unfortunately for Curry though, in a basketball blogger’s universe being able to debate, analyze and offer opinions is what we live for. Suffice to say copious articles on this exact subject hit the net including our own Coty Davis who pondered if these 2 players represent the newest rivalry in the NBA.

Giving credence to Harden’s own argument was one of the most intelligent articles on the subject written by Seth Partnow of Nylon Calculus who looked at how dominate the Bearded man actually was when it came to creating plays for his squad while carrying the offensive burden:
