  • After being signed by the Rockets in the 2012-2013 season, Beverley has earned a reputation in the NBA as one of the best defensive point guards in the league.

Beverley is known for his tough, physical play, which has often been criticized as being dirty (just ask any Oklahoma City Thunder fan). However, Beverley’s defense has earned him a spot on the NBA All-Defensive Second team in 2014.

Patrick Beverley is not a traditional point guard by any means. Beverley is not great at driving to the rim or passing, which ironically makes him the perfect compliment at point guard next to James Harden.

Beverley has been limited to less than 60 games in all three seasons with the Rockets, and his play has been inconsistent throughout his time as starting point guard. With Ty Lawson now in the mix, Beverley’s role will surely undergo major changes in the upcoming season.
