Houston Rockets Fire Head Coach Kevin McHale

The Houston Rockets fired head coach Kevin McHale Wednesday morning, November 18th, after a disappointing 4-7 start to the season, according to reports.
With the Rockets early struggles, people began to speculate that it was only a matter of time until the Rockets saw a coaching change. Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports that it was a decision that management made only after they felt like McHale had lost support from the locker room.
While there has yet to be any official word of who the Rockets may potentially bring in to replace McHale, for now, J.B. Bickerstaff will become interim head coach, and assistant Chris Finch will be promoted to associate head coach.

Rockets management (Alexander, Morey, Brown) didn’t want to make move, believed Kevin McHale lost the locker room. Things would not change.

With the Rockets having reached and easier spot in their schedule, the organization made the change sooner rather than later in hopes that the team can find some solid ground during a long season.
I hope the best for McHale, and I am thankful for his four years in Houston. That being said, I’ve been awaiting a coaching change for a couple of seasons now, and I am excited to see where the Rockets go from here. General manager Daryl Morey has assembled a great roster, here’s hoping he can find a great head coach.
