Joel Anthony was a member of the Rockets today for a grand total of about three hours.

As my editor reported earlier today, the Houston Rockets traded Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton to the Detroit Pistons. In return, the Pistons sent over a protected first round pick and center Joel Anthony.

Now, according Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, the Rockets have sent Anthony to the Philadelphia 76ers for a second round draft pick.

That’s right. Daryl Morey traded away the only big man on the roster who could shoot, Motiejunas, along with the hot hand, Marcus Thornton, for just two draft picks.

Doesn’t make sense to me, but what do I know? Stay tuned for any updates on the trade deadline.
