Are Houston Rockets taking too long to fill vacant Head Coach position?

By Tamberlyn Richardson

With the Houston Rockets continuing their search for the vacant Head Coach position candidates are being scooped up.

It’s not like the Houston Rockets haven’t been at this a while. Countless candidates have taken interviews with General Manager Daryl Morey and Owner Leslie Alexander. The problem is the same candidates are gaining employment so fast it begs the question why the Rockets are taking so long to determine their choice.

Could it be they are unsure of exactly what they want? Mike D’Antoni was looking like the lead candidate, but that news also came on the heels Jeff Van Gundy was not only the preference, but the inevitable choice.

During the interview process the Sacramento Kings scooped up defensive specialist Dave Joeger, the Knicks scooped up Jeff Hornacek (as FanSided Daily Knicks enthused about here) and the Magic grabbed what would have been an awesome hire for Houston in Frank Vogel.

The pool of talent is rapidly evaporating, so again are Morey and Alexander waiting too long to make their choice or is this a matter of them being unable to decipher if defense or offense is the most important factor.

With the NBA Draft on the near horizon it’s time they lock down a head coach, so the team can determine what and who they need to focus their attention on mid June.

In the interim, without a head coach in house what exactly are the currently contracted players focusing their efforts on while they prepare for next season?

One of many questions Clutch City fans are left to ponder.
