Eric Gordon put on a show in NOLA, becoming the first Rocket to take home a 3-Point Contest trophy.
They say that home cooking does the body good. It seems like it has the same effect on the jump-shot. Eric Gordon is testament to this.
Splash Gordon returned to the city and arena where he went through his fair share of peaks and valleys. As a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, Eric Gordon, dealt with a series of injuries that made his time through Smoothie King Center less than memorable.
That is, until February 18th, 2017. Eric Gordon returned to New Orleans this weekend to take part in the JBL 3-Point Contest, and he returned with a purpose.

Right off the bat, Eric sent a message by setting the bar at 25 in the first round, cruising by an amazing group of shooters to the second round. Kemba Walker and Kyrie Irving were the other two finalists. Kemba shot first, earning a score of 12. Kyrie went next and put up a competitive score of 20.
Eric shot third, and approached his final rack of basketballs needing to make two points to win. Unfortunately, though, he came up short, only scoring one point on that rack.. This led to an overtime shootout.
Kyrie Irving stepped to the line for a third time and notched 19 points in overtime. E.G. went toes the stripe, bombs away, and had 20 with one rack to spare to bring the first ever 3-Point Contest trophy to Houston with a score of 21.
There’s no place like home. Or former home to bring a win to your new home. Congratulations Eric Gordon.
