Daryl Morey has done it again, folks.

The wizard General Manager has traded for All-Star point guard Chris Paul. In a shocking turn of events, the Rockets have convinced Paul to opt into his contract and be traded to Houston. With this deal taking place, the Rockets are losing some fan-favorites, unfortunately. CP3 will be coming to Houston for Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, and a 2018 first round pick. The veteran guard will join James Harden to create one of the best backcourts in the NBA.

This news shocked the NBA this Wednesday morning after many expected Chris Paul to opt out of his contract. This genius move by Morey and Co. allows the Rockets to get Paul and get more cap space at the same time.

Chris Paul wants to play with James Harden

Apparently, these talks with Paul have been going on longer than everyone thought. Chris Paul and James Harden have been talking for a bit and decided they want to play together. Thankfully for Rockets fans, Houston is the location that this team-up will happen. This trade could be the start of a super team in Houston should other free agents want to join the cause.

What could this move mean for the Rockets? Will more big name free agents want to join Houston? With Kyle Lowry likely out of the picture, the Rockets are still going to pursue Blake Griffin and Paul Millsap. Will CP3’s arrival mean that Blake is likely out of the picture, too?
