Carmelo Anthony trade rumors are flying around everywhere, and Houston is one of Anthony’s two preferred destinations. Here are three trade scenarios that can land Melo in H-Town.

Now that the New York Knicks have inked Tim Hardaway Jr. to a new 4-year, $71 million deal, they’re interested in re-kindling trade talks with the Houston Rockets for a Carmelo Anthony trade.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks cannot imagine Carmelo Anthony remaining on the roster at the start of the season. New York is desperate to get rid of Carmelo, and after Phil Jackson‘s constant criticisms, Melo’s trade value has diminished.

The Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers are the only teams that Anthony is willing to waive his no-trade clause for. New York is likely to keep trade talks exclusively between those two clubs.

So long as New York can receive young talent or assets with trade value in return, the Knicks are likely to pull the trigger. The closer we inch toward the start of training camp, the more desperate the Knicks front office will be to unload Melo.
