The Houston Rockets will take on the Dallas Mavericks as they look to win their 12th game out of the last 15 against Dallas.

The Houston Rockets have regained their mojo after a very tumultuous end to 2017. After suffering a five game losing streak in December, Houston has won six of its last seven games since Jan 8.

The catalyst for Houston’s success has been the same formula that has produced wins for the entire season. It’s health and defense.

Since James Harden and Luc Mbah a Moute returned, the Rockets went into Monday’s game against Miami with a full roster for the first time in a long time. When Chris Paul, Harden and Capela all play, the Rockets are 18-0.

Houston’s defense has also improved a lot over the last seven games. Since Jan 8, the Rockets have a defensive rating of 102.9, which would be fifth in the NBA this season. They held the Warriors to 108 points and the new-look Timberwolves to just 98 points. Houston also defeated Miami 99-90 on Monday, proving that they can win low scoring, grind it out games.

The Rockets face the Mavs on the road tonight, and Dallas isn’t exactly an elite team on offense or defense. But they do have some talented players and it would be a mistake to underestimate any NBA team. Here’s what you should watch for tonight against the Mavs.
