The Houston Rockets prepare to face the streaking New Orleans Pelicans in the Crescent City tonight.

The Rockets (34-12), winners of 4 out of 5, head to the Smoothie King Center for a date with the Pelicans (26-21). All-Stars DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis will try to outduel the spectacular backcourt tandem of James Harden and snub Chris Paul.

While the Pelicans have been fairly inconsistent this season, there is no reason to take them lightly. In fact, this is a team that causes a number of matchup problems for many of the top teams.

The frontcourt of the Rockets will certainly have their hands full tonight. However, there are other important factors to take in for tonight’s game: depth, 3-point shooting ability and discipline. Out of the three things mentioned, the Pelicans have none of those, while the Rockets do. So it will be interesting to see how New Orleans plays Houston, considering the Rockets have won 9 of the last 11 meetings between these two.

With that said, here are three keys to defeating the Pelicans in NOLA.
