James Harden is already the clear favorite for MVP this season, and he thinks this is the Rockets year to win a championship too.
The Houston Rockets are a confident bunch this year.
In a recent interview, Daryl Morey said that both James Harden and Chris Paul are confident that they will beat the Warriors this year. P.J. Tucker also said that this is the deepest team he’s ever been apart of.
With the mid-season additions of Gerald Green, Joe Johnson and Brandan Wright, this is an extremely deep team. At full strength, some guys aren’t going to get a lot of playing time. With such a deep roster, James Harden feels good about Houston’s title chances.
“This is the year,” Harden confidently told ESPN’s Jovan Buha. “For sure.”
Harden and the Rockets hold the NBA’s best record at 47-13. At 24-6, they’ve been nearly unbeatable at home. Yet, they’ve managed to be almost as good on the road at 23-7.
Harden said that this is the best team he’s ever been apart of, via Jovan Buha.
“This is probably the best team I’ve ever been a part of, from top to bottom. The chemistry that we have, included with the coaching staff — I mean, we’re having a lot of fun.”
Houston has won 13 games in a row, and they’ll be looking for their 14th straight against the Clippers on Wednesday night. Houston has lost both of their games against the Clippers this season. However, this Clippers team will look a bit different without Blake Griffin.
Houston has a tough four-game stretch with Boston, Oklahoma City, Milwaukee and Toronto after their game in LA, so the Rockets need to come out with a win.
