Tyreke Evans

Tyreke Evans is a popular choice among fans for who the Rockets should pursue in the offseason. He is coming off of a great season for the Grizzlies, the best since his rookie year in fact.

Evans averaged 19.4 points, 5.2 rebounds & 5.1 assists a night for a team that was well out of contention. His talent certainly deserves to be utilized elsewhere and the Rockets could be just the place for him.

He has turned himself into quite the 3-point shooter, too, something that Rockets would definitely like on the squad. Last season, he shot 40% from 3 after shooting 41% the year before. His shooting ability is definitely here to stay as he enters his tenth season in the NBA.

Should the Rockets lose someone like Eric Gordon to a trade for a star, Evans could be a perfect candidate to be the primary scorer off the bench.

Concerns

Technically, Tyreke Evans is a veteran in this league as he has played for nearly 10 years. However, he just had one of his best seasons ever and could be looking to get paid as he enters his age 29 season.

The Rockets won’t be able to pay Evans nearly what he deserves, most likely. If he is willing to take a pay cut, then great. But he can possibly demand upwards of $10-15 million from a team if he wants the money.

Taking the mid-level exception from Houston would be absolutely perfect if he wants to win.
