Marco Belinelli

Another great veteran guard that could be a great addition to the Rockets is Marco Belinelli. He is 32 years old and is coming off another solid season of shooting from behind the arc.

Overall for the season, Belinelli shot 37.7% from 3-point range but increased his average to 38.5% when he was traded to the Sixers. He also averaged a career-high in points with 12.1 per game. Coming off the bench in Houston, Marco could be a serious weapon as a spot-up candidate for Chris Paul and James Harden.

He is someone that should be affordable and willing to sign with a contender as he looks to win another ring, potentially with another Texas team in Houston.

Concerns

The defense of Belinelli definitely was not great in the second round against Boston in the playoffs. He also struggled with his shot, something that doesn’t normally happen with Marco. In San Antonio, he had multiple playoffs where he shot over 40% from downtown.

As he gets older, his defense and ability to get off his shot might deteriorate. Would he be as effective or would he be able to keep up this level of play over another 82 game season?

Overall, Belinelli would likely be worth the potential risk as the Rockets could add another sharpshooter to the team.
