HOUSTON, TX – MAY 14: Luc Mbah a Moute #12 of the Houston Rockets boxes out against the Golden State Warriors in Game One of the Western Conference Finals of the 2018 NBA Playoffs on May 14, 2018 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. (Photo by Bill Baptist/NBAE via Getty Images) /

Luc Mbah a Moute

Luc definitely had an interesting season in Houston. He was a perfect fit in the system and was fantastic on both ends of the court. He was a key contributor for the Rockets as they won a franchise-record 65 games.

Unfortunately, the shoulder dislocations really derailed his season, to the point where he was unplayable during the series against the Warriors. That leads me to believe that the new defenders will be able to slide into his role and have a similar impact.

If Luc was able to play in the Conference Finals, he would have had a huge impact during the series. However, the Rockets were still able to take Golden State to seven games without him, despite his talents.

We wish Luc the best of luck in Los Angeles and hope he gets back on track, as he is a very good player when healthy. I definitely think that James Ennis will end up playing a similar role to Luc by the end of the year if they are able to pick up a better 3-and-D player through trades like they are rumored to be looking to do.
