3. Shoot at least 43 percent from the field

Carmelo Anthony has never shot a particularly high percentage from the field. Anthony takes a lot of contested mid-range jumpers and he’s also taken a lot more 3-pointers in the second half of his career.

Last year, Anthony shot a career-low 40.4 percent from the field. His poor shooting percentage can be attributed to playing for a new team, switching positions and just simply missing shots. Also, Billy Donovan‘s offensive system doesn’t seem to maximize his player’s efficiency, unless their name is Russell Westbrook.

Anthony has shot 44.9 percent from the floor for his career, but he’s unlikely to shoot that well next year. He’ll probably average a career-high in 3-pointers attempted in Houston and an aging body will limit his shot attempts in the restricted area.

Raising his shooting percentage to at least 43 percent should be a doable goal for Anthony. He shot that well in every season as a Knick and Chris Paul and James Harden will create quite a lot of space for the 10-time All-Star.
