After going advertisement-less on their jerseys last season, the Houston Rockets are changing things up a bit for this upcoming year.

The Houston Rockets have entered the jersey advertisement game. They officially will have a jersey-patch on their uniforms for the 2018-19 NBA season.

The Rockets were one of the last teams to jump into this type of advertisement in the NBA. Many franchises chose to take part in them last year during their inaugural season.

Houston was never opposed to adding the patches to their jersey, but they were waiting for the perfect opportunity for it to happen first. They found just that, choosing to partner with ROKiT phone company.

Here are how the patches will look this season:

Opinion

Well, we knew that this would eventually come. Jersey patches will be a staple into the future of the NBA and the Rockets weren’t going to escape from that.

It could definitely be worse, though. The colors of the company, ROKiT, blend in pretty well with the jerseys of the team. It isn’t like some of the companies out there that have a completely different color scheme than the team they are sponsoring.

Oh yeah, and the name of the business is ROKiT. The Rockets are sponsored by ROKiT. I’m sure that wasn’t a coincidence.

Overall, the jersey sponsorship could be a lot worse for the Rockets. It makes sense with the jerseys they are on and ROKiT even shares a similar name to the team that they are sponsoring. We’ll see in the future whether or not more sponsorships will make their way onto NBA jerseys in the future.

A few players took pictures in the new jerseys, so we can get an early look at how they’ll appear:

Next. James Ennis will start for the Rockets

Not too shabby! I wonder if the Rockets will get a complete rebranding anytime soon, though, as many fans seem to be yearning for just that.
