The Bench

INC. After a stellar first preseason game, Coach Mike D’Antoni opted to mostly rest Gerald Green on Friday. Gerald Green went 0-for-3 from downtown but had some nice drives, but it wouldn’t be fair to grade someone that played just seven minutes. Green gets an incomplete this time around.. Guard/Forward. Houston Rockets. GERALD GREEN

B -. Isaiah Hartenstein played all of his 12 minutes in the fourth quarter in a game that was already pretty much decided. The seven-foot center showed some nice effort contesting shots inside in his limited play, finishing with a block and two boards to go along with his six points. Hartenstein even attempted a 3-pointer from the top of the key, so he might slowly be getting more comfortable with how the Rockets operate. Isaiah’s four turnovers bring his grade down a bit, but it was a decent quarter of play for him.. Forward. Houston Rockets. ISAIAH HARTENSTEIN

INC. Tyson Chandler only played nine minutes on Friday, so gets an incomplete grade as well. The veteran center finished the night with three points, three rebounds and a block. Tyson also treated the Honolulu crowd to one of his patented two-handed flushes, which is always fun to watch.. Center. Houston Rockets. TYSON CHANDLER

B -. Shamorie Ponds also only saw action in the fourth quarter. The rookie ended the night with two points, an assist, a block and two turnovers in his 12 minutes. Ponds struggled a bit defensively in his limited time, but it seems unfair to give him less than a B- considering the limited time he saw on the court.. Guard. Houston Rockets. SHAMORIE PONDS
