Houston Rockets: Player grades from win over Los Angeles Clippers

C -. Austin Rivers certainly had a forgettable game against his father’s Los Angeles Clippers. The California native finished the night shooting just 1-for-6 from the field, including missing all four of his attempts from the outside. A couple of his shots didn’t even look that close, particularly one wide-open corner 3-point attempt. Houston shot just 11-of-48 as a team from downtown, so maybe it was just contagious.. Guard. Houston Rockets. AUSTIN RIVERS
THABO SEFOLOSHA. B. Thabo Sefolosha once again blended into the background for the most part against the Clippers. The veteran scored all four of his points from the charity stripe and pulled down four boards along with two assists and a block. Sefolosha also showed he could be inserted as a power forward and still hit the glass well, as his first-half minutes showed.. Guard/Forward. Houston Rockets
Forward. Houston Rockets. GARY CLARK. B -. Another member of the fourth-quarter crew, Gary Clark went 1-of-4 from the 3-point line, with his lone make coming from the corner. The power forward also battled on the glass well in his 12 minutes, pulling down four rebounds (two offensive) while also tallying an assist and steal.
JARON BLOSSOMGAME. B+. After finishing with 12 rebounds in just 15 minutes in his first preseason game, Jaron Blossomgame showed off his nose for the ball once again, pulling down seven more in just 12 fourth-quarter minutes. The Houston Rockets certainly have a need for rebounding, so if Jaron keeps crashing the boards at this rate, he may have a chance to make the team after all.. Forward. Houston Rockets
A. Chris Clemons continues to impress in the preseason. The 22-year-old once again showed his ultra-aggressiveness, attempting 11 shots from the outside, which was second only to Harden. While he only made three, he also had some nice drives to the basket that ended up either in points or assists. Perhaps most impressively, the 5-9 guard pulled down four rebounds in his 23 minutes on the court. Clippers commentator Brian Sieman expressed during the game he would be shocked if Clemons isn’t on the Rockets’ roster come the regular season. It’s hard to disagree with him so far.. Guard. Houston Rockets. CHRIS CLEMONS
While the Clippers were short their two new superstars, Houston is taking care of business so far in the preseason, and looking good doing it.
