Over the last two years, the Los Angeles Lakers have built one of the best teams in the league. How do they match up against the Houston Rockets?

There are more legitimate contenders in the NBA this season than there have been in recent years, and both the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers are expected to make a run for the title.

In this new era of basketball, elite dynamic duos from around the league will battle head-to-head for a shot at a title. James Harden and Russell Westbrook against LeBron James and Anthony Davis is one heck of a matchup, which will make every Rockets-Lakers game must-watch television.

Last season, the Rockets won their season series against the Lakers 3-1. Houston’s only loss to LA was at Staples Center on Feb. 21, 2019. LeBron James put up his usual stat line that night, but it was the 27-point, 13-rebound performance from Brandon Ingram that helped lead the Lakers to a 111-106 win over Houston.

In the other games, however, the Rockets tortured LA’s defense. Houston put up at least 124 points and made at least 15 3-pointers in each of their three wins. Harden had a huge night in Houston’s 126-111 win over the Lakers last December, as The Beard dropped 50 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to go along with 18 made free throws on the night.

However, the Lakers are a better team heading into this season than they were last season, as the team made dramatic changes to their roster over the offseason.
