The Houston Rockets look to go 2-0 in the season series against the New Orleans Pelicans in a visit to The Smoothie King Center on Monday.

After an up-and-down start to the season, the Houston Rockets seem to be figuring things out as of late. James Harden and crew have won their last three games after the Miami massacre, with two of those being on the road. Brandon Ingram and the New Orleans Pelicans, meanwhile, are just looking to stay afloat while their number one draft pick Zion Williamson recovers from arthroscopic knee surgery.

The teams met up once already this season, when the Pelicans were even more shorthanded, missing Williamson and Jrue Holiday. Still, New Orleans nearly stole the game in Houston behind 35 points and 15 rebounds from Brandon Ingram, but ultimately came up short, falling 126-123. The Pelicans will again be shorthanded on Monday, as Lonzo Ball will be out with a right adductor strain.

In their first meeting, Russell Westbrook tallied a triple-double with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists while James Harden added 29 points. Harden, however, shot just 2-for-18 from beyond the arc in that contest and 8-for-29 overall.

With both the Rockets and Pelicans coming off victories, let’s take a look at everything you need to know about Monday’s grudge match.
