In a battle of Western Conference powerhouses, the Houston Rockets will visit the Denver Nuggets for a showdown on Wednesday.

Unsurprisingly, betting odds are a virtual tie going into Wednesday night’s matchup between the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets. With the Nuggets winning six of seven and the Rockets winning eight in a row, both teams will be facing a tough task come tipoff time at the Pepsi Center.

Houston is riding James Harden‘s 39.2 points and 7.6 points per game to an 11-3 record, including a 5-2 mark on the road. The Denver Nuggets have used their double-headed snake of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray to win nine of their first 12 games and go 4-2 at home.

Mike D’Antoni‘s ballclub has been dominant over Denver in recent years. The Rockets have won 10 of their last 11 matchups with the Nuggets, with their only loss in the last three years being this past February.

Houston’s defense has picked up considerably since the first week of the season, which has been the biggest factor in their ongoing winning streak.

The Nuggets are going into the matchup as the fourth-best team in the league in opponent points per game allowed, at just 102.9, while the Rockets are first in the league in points per game at 119.5. Something’s gotta give on Wednesday night.
