Clutch City: Enter FanSided’s Fan Of The Year Contest

The Houston Rockets weren’t named “Clutch City” just because of the team and players. Much of that adage had to do with the fan base who have played the role of sixth man throughout the storied franchise.

Now you have an opportunity to share your story of how you became a fan and answer one question. Are you the greatest Houston Rockets Fan ever?

Do you keep memento’s from games you’ve attended, having framed the ticket stubs from the first game you went to with your Grandpa?  Were you that one person among your friends last year who never stopped believing in the Houston Rockets despite all the injuries the team suffered? Or perhaps you’re the fan who paints your face, wears H-Town gear or sports a fake beard and chef apron at the games.

Maybe you have every game in your video media library from the back to back championships won by Hakeem “the Dream” Olajuwon, Vernon “Mad Max” Maxwell, Clyde “The Glide” Drexler and Kenny “The Jet” Smith.  Can you recall with painstaking detail every game from the Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady era when the team never got to recognize it’s promise due to their injuries?

Whichever category you fall in we want to hear your story because it could end up with you winning FanSided’s Fan of the Year!

Here’s how to enter: Send us a two-minute video or a 200-word essay to FanOfTheYear@FanSided.com telling us your story and explaining why you should be named FanSided Fan of the Year. We’ll review all submissions and narrow down the field to five finalists. Each finalist will receive a one-year subscription to Sports Illustrated and will be interviewed and profiled on FanSided.com. The grand prize winner will be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine!
