In the second meeting of a home and home, the shorthanded Houston Rockets defeated the Utah Jazz. With Dwight Howard not playing due to a sore back. This was a critical win for the Rockets to stay one seed ahead of Utah in the Western Conference.

B+. Every time Dwight Howard is inactive, it appears that Capela takes his game to another level. Along with T-Jones, Caplea helped the Rockets protect the paint in Houston tonight. Much like Howard, Capela did a great job cleaning the boards in Houston as he cracked double figures. Overall, good game for the young man from Switzerland. 7 points, 10 rebounds <span style=. C. Houston Rockets. CLINT CAPELA

B+. Replacing an injured all-star is not an easy job, but T-Jones had one of his most efficient nights of the season. Although he was not the same offensive force as Dwight Howard, Jones was just as good as Superman protecting the paint. 14 points, 8 rebounds. . PF. Houston Rockets. TERRENCE JONES

Houston Rockets. JAMES HARDEN. A+. I assume Harden was the only Rocket who came ready to play tonight. The bearded one was cooking on all cylinders, but it was sad to see that his teammates were a no show in the first half. It was like watching Michael Jackson perform with a bunch of Tito Jacksons. After he scored 10 of the Rockets 16 points in the first quarter, Harden was determined not to have the same offensive struggles as Monday night. Although he had a great scoring night, Harden was more engaged on all areas of the floor. He played with more hustles, and his defensive rotations were much better.  33 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists 2 steals, 1 blocks.. SG

B-. It was a quiet first half, but in the second Beverley became  Harden’s scoring buddy.  Not only did Beverley have a solid night scoring, but it appears that he has reunited with his defense playing one of his best defensive game of the season. He did a good job contesting shots and even collected a few steals to add to his stat line. Moving forward let’s hope he can continue this 2-way effort the rest of the season. 9 points, 4 assists 2 steals.. PG. Houston Rockets. PATRICK BEVERLEY

Best Reserve

A. The JT-31 Jet was ready for take off tonight!  This was by far Jason Terry’s best game of the season. When the Rockets needed someone to step up from the second unit, Terry was the man! As he scored all of his points in the second half, Terry was the Rockets’ second leading scorer during the final 24 minutes. 12 points, 2 rebounds.. G. Houston Rockets. JASON TERRY

Best Opponent:

Even though his teammate left the game late in the third with a sprained ankle, Hood was once again the biggest problem for the Rockets. With Hood out, Hayward become the Jazz’s only scorer. Although this was not a great game for him, Hayward is one of the most underrated players in the league. If it wasn’t for the unfortunate injury Hood suffered, both he and Hayward would have made this a nightmare game for Houston. Overall, it was a solid performance for the Jazz leading scorer. 15 points, 5 assists. . SF. Utah Jazz. GORDON HAYWARD. B
