NBA Power Ranking Lists: How Pundits Rank Houston Rockets Week 12
By Tamberlyn Richardson
Where National Pundits place Houston Rockets on NBA Power Ranking Lists week 12
Week 12 of the 2015-16 season is in the books and with that the new NBA Power Ranking Lists are out, so lets take a look at where the Houston Rockets were ranked.
In Week 12 the Houston Rockets continued their winning ways posting 3 wins (Memphis, Minnesota, Los Angeles Lakers) and suffered one loss (Cleveland). That marks 6 wins in 7 which also coincides with Dwight Howard’s continued on court production.
Will the team continue this winning production or will they fall backwards into inconsistency again. Week 12 finds the Rockets playing the Clippers, Pistons, Bucks and Mavericks.
Lets see where the pundits rank the Rockets in week 12:
Pundits Lists:
John Schuhmann of nba.com points out Dwight Howard’s recent uptick in production moving them up another rung this week. Full week 12 list
Matt Moore of CBS continues to be the Rockets biggest cheer leaders of the pundits vaulting them up 5 spots into 8th. He warns that this may be fools good and give the best description of the team I’ve seen all season: “The Rockets are a car salesman” I think that’s about as succinct and accurate as it gets! Complete list.
Marc Stein ESPN Stein also moves the Rockets up the ladder, this week placing them on the 10th rung (3 spot jump over last week). His most intriguing fact this week is pointing out the reduced pace Houston have been playing during the win streak. Full List.
Jeremy Woo of Sports Illustrated is one of the guys who preseason had huge hopes for the Rockets expecting them to be among the West’s contenders (ranking them 4th). After their recent winning performances he cautiously jumps them up to the middle of the leauge with aspirations for them to finish where he originally envisioned. His full list is here.
USA Today Panels To reiterate with so little content (or valuable information for that matter), I’m not sure why they continue to provide a ranking at all. Here’s the full power ranking list
