Where National Pundits place Houston Rockets on NBA Power Ranking Lists week 14

Week 14 of the 2015-16 season is in the books and with that the new NBA Power Ranking Lists are out, so lets take a look at where the Houston Rockets were ranked.

In Week 14 the Houston Rockets hit a wall winning just one of their 4 games. After taking down the Pelicans they lost back to back games to Western power houses the Spurs and Thunder. Entering the final game of the week it felt like a must win, but the zebras not only allowed several Wizards to take dirty shots at Howard they threw him out of the game for complaining about it.

That Wizards game proved pivotal heading into Week 15 as the Howard was suspended for the first game versus Miami, but he’ll be back to face the  the Suns and Blazers.

With the news wire heating up over trade rumors and teams dealing with injuries and the wear and tear of the season, most squads just want to get to the break healthy, so let’s send out that wish and hope the Rockets can have a winning week as well.

Lets see where the pundits rank the Rockets in week 14:

Pundits Lists:

John Schuhmann of nba.com points out how poorly the Rockets defense has been of late especially against the East and notes 3 games versus the Blazers who sit just one seed behind Houston will be pivotal.  Full week 14 list

Matt Moore of CBS I hadn’t read Moore’s review on the Rockets prior to writing my opening, so it’s interesting he saw last week in a very similar vein as I did. The on going demise of the Rockets defense this season truly has me believing last year was smoke and mirrors and this year is more the reality of who they are. H-Town fans better hope I’m wrong because the way Portland refuses to lose and the Jazz and Kings are charging it could be Houston on the outside looking in if they aren’t careful!  Complete list.

Marc Stein ESPN  Stein continues to be the most aggressive in moving the Rockets up and down the ladder. Last week they climbed up 3 spots and this week finds him pushing them down FIVE spots to 13th place.  Full List.

Jeremy Woo of Sports Illustrated  Drops the Rockets 2 spots after their off week. His full list is here.

Finally Jeff Sagarin USA Today provides his ever interesting list which encompasses so many different stats. At season start I thought his ranking list was way too intense, but as the season has gone on it’s offered little tidbits that have been extremely helpful in seeing where teams were headed. Unlike a lot of the lists (including my own) you don’t often see much fluctuation on Sagarin’s list because he looks at the teams from the perspective of their schedule strength, how they perform against the top 10 and 16 teams and their most recent performance. Here’s his Full List:
