The Houston Rockets played like they needed to – desperate. Here’s the player grades.

81. . 112. 169. 109

The Houston Rockets are in a must win scenario pretty much every game now if the want to secure their playoff spot. Tonight Harden’s triple-double propelled them to a victory, but trust me when I tell you the zebra’s get a huge assist on the night. For them to toss both of Toronto’s super stars when Harden was complaining equally as much is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

It was Kyle Lowry’s 30th birthday and once again the Raptors couldn’t win in Houston. I will say if I was the Raptors management I’d be lodging a formal complaint over how this game was officiated. The crazy thing was even with tossing the Raptors top two stars and Harden’s triple-double it was touch and go whether the Rockets would pull this one out.

Still, the Raptors don’t need the win, the Rockets do. So, we’ll take it and move on to the next game.

Rockets Player Grades

B+. For the most part <a href=. SF. Houston Rockets. TREVOR ARIZA

B-. <a href=. PF-C. Houston Rockets. DONATAS MOTIEJUNAS

DWIGHT HOWARD. F. This was a joke. <a href=. C. Houston Rockets

Another triple double for  <a href=. SG. Houston Rockets. JAMES HARDEN. A+

PG. Houston Rockets. PATRICK BEVERLEY. C. <a href=

Best Reserve

<a href=. PF. Houston Rockets. MICHAEL BEASLEY. B+

Best Opponent:

Toronto Raptors. JONAS VALANCIUNAS. A. Hard to give either Lowry or DeRozan the opposing player award, though I’ll reiterate there were a ton of uncalled fouls and the zebra’s should be under review for throwing them both out. I watched Harden go at the referee in exactly the same manner. Because the Rockets need the win, I’m happy, but I hate how badly officiating has regressed this season. It ends up feeling like there really is betting going on. Therefore the big man gets the nod for his 16 point, 18 rebound (8 offensive) night. He literally ate Howard for breakfast, and had the upper hand on Capela who should watch tape of him to learn how to throw free throws. I saw Howard take some cheap shots on him that surprised me and its the first time I wondered (perhaps I just hadn’t looked as carefully prior) if Dwight is hurt, age has finally caught up or he doesn’t care. Come this summer I won’t be surprised if Ujiri takes a long hard look at Motiejunas to pair him with JV in Toronto.. C
