With no other option but to win the Houston Rockets hosted the fragile and shorthanded Phoenix Suns, but once again fell short and are likely out of the playoffs. Suffice to say it’s all over, but the crying!

The fairly empty Toyota Center hosted  a rather lukewarm game between two teams with very different aspirations: While the Houston Rockets needed the win to keep relevant in the run for a final spot in post season, the Phoenix Suns are playing for the future and doing all they can to develop young stud Devin Booker.

As far as the game is concerned the Rockets commanded the score and left the Suns in the backseat for most of the game, however, by the third quarter fueled by hard-working players like PJ Tucker and Mirza Teletovic, Phoenix managed to make a strong run and pulled dangerously close.

The fourth quarter then proceeded to be all about heart and desire as the Suns and the Rockets traded baskets with very little concern to the defensive aspect of the game.

In the end the weird rotations, the lack of effort caught up to the Rockets as they managed to throw away one of the easiest games of the season and lost their second game in a row.

The Texan team is probably done for the season – and likely for the best as they exited Toyota Center deservedly booed.

Sorry Red Nation, but stick a fork in it . On the bright side it looks like the Rockets will keep their pick.
