Houston Rockets: Space City Scoop Poll of the Day Results
By Tamberlyn Richardson
Space City Scoop is eager to hear from the Houston Rockets fan base on all things H-Town. In an effort to get direct feedback SCS is running polls on our Twitter page to get your input. The recent set of polls focused on who you think the team will resemble next year and which player other than James Harden is critical to that success.
The results are in for the three polls SCS ran on our twitter page: @SpaceCity_Scoop this week and there are some intriguing responses. Please note these are small sample sizes, but they offer insight none the less:
Poll 1:
In the first poll I guess it’s not much of a surprise the fan base believes the Golden State Warriors are the team the Houston Rockets should emulate. The big surprise is not one voter thought the Cavaliers was a model that should be mirrored.
Which top team should the Houston Rockets look to emulate in 2016-17 #Rockets #NBA

Poll 2:
This response offers some sound insight. First it’s logical to assume D’Antoni will have an immediate effect on the offensive scheme and even easier to imagine with a player of James Harden’s ilk that D’Antoni can create a system that utilizes his strengths much like he did with Steve Nash.
That said, the second category which garnered equal votes was next season’s team would be exactly the same as this years. Perhaps that points to a mindset of “show me” and then I’ll believe the team has been improved.
Which top team WILL the Rockets most likely resemble in the 2016-17 season?

Poll 3:
More from Space City Scoop
- Rockets: Time to return the slander towards Rachel Nichols
- What the Rockets must do with the second overall pick
- Houston Rockets: The case for, and against, trading Christian Wood
- NBA Rumors: Why the Houston Rockets shouldn’t trade up to no. 1 in NBA Draft
- 3 players that would be a perfect fit for the Houston Rockets at 23 or 24
Of all the polls I found the responses to this question the most interesting. I’m not surprised a free agent addition took the top spot, but the fact Clint Capela was a close second was surprising.
This could be because fans think Capela’s role may be similar to that of Amare Stoudemire who flourished in the D’Antoni system both in Phoenix and New York.
Personally I think Trevor Ariza will be fundamental to D’Antoni’s system given he’ll need to provide his consistent defense and should be the recipient of several wide open three balls.
Other than James Harden which player is most vital to Houston Rockets successful reemergence at the top of West?
