Houston Rockets 2016 Vegas NBA Summer League Roster and Schedule

Once again the Houston Rockets will participate in the Vegas NBA Summer League. The following is the list of players who’ll particpate and the Rockets initial schedule.

Suffering from basketball withdrawal? No fear as the Houston Rockets are participating in the annual 2016 Vegas NBA Summer League.  The following is the players who’ll participate and the initial Rockets schedule. Of note Houston are part of the 6 teams who kick off opening day:

Rockets  Vegas Roster

Centers:

Gracin Bakumanya: 6’11” big from Antibes, France/DR Congo who’ll be wearing number 39.

Tonye Jekiri: a 7′.0″ center hailing from Nigeria and played his college ball at Miami and will be wearing jersey number 37

Wu Guanxi the 6’10” center played with the Shanghai Sharks last season will wear jersey 14

Forwards:

Sam Dekker: The  6’9″ Wisconsin alum makes his return to the court after not playing not much last season for the Rockets due to a back injury/surgery.  He’ll sport his typical number 7 jersey.

Chinanu Onuaku Fans will get their first look at the 6’10” rookie power forward/center from Louisville in number 21

Chris Walker the 6’10 forward played his college ball in Florida and will be in jersey 5.

Kyle Wiltjer Gonzaga forward was signed by the Rockets following the draft presumably for his shooting capabilities. He’ll wear jersey 33.

Michael Beasley: 6’9.5″ forward joined the Rockets late last season after a stint in China and with 8 years of experience presumably in on the team to help the rookies and showcase his talent for D’Antoni. The Kansas State alum will wear number 8.

Montrezl Harrell saw a bit of action last season for Houston but primarily spent his time in the D League with the Rio Grande Vipers. The 6’8″ Louisville alum will wear number 35

K.J. McDaniels the 6’6″ forward/guard was under utilized by the Rockets last season, so hopes to make a splash in Vegas. The Clemson grad sports number 32

Guards:

Trey Freeman 6-2 guard from Old Dominion College will wear 38

Kenny Gaines 6’3″ played college ball in Georgia and wears jersey 36

Melvin Johnson 6’4″ played his college ball with VCU and sports jersey 30

Gary Payton II hailing from Oregon State the 6’3 guard was signed by the Rockets following the draft and will wear jersey 20

Isaiah Taylor is a 6’3″ guard who played his college ball in Texas will wear number 18

Schedule:

The Rockets are part of the 3 game opening July 8th schedule in Vegas where they tip-off against the Atlanta Hawks at 8PM EST. The game will be on NBA TV

Their second game occurs on July 10th versus the Sacramento Kings at 6:30 PM EST

The final game prior to the playoff round will occur on July 11th at 6:00PM EST vers the D-League Select Team
