What could the Rockets General Manager be planning this summer for the team to be able to stop the Golden State Warriors?

Daryl Morey is always an aggressive GM during the offseason for the Rockets, but it seems like he is gonna take it up another notch this summer. He said on ESPN.com to Zach Lowe,

"“They [the Warriors] are not unbeatable. There have been bigger upsets in sports history. We are going to keep improving our roster.”"

On how aggressive the Rockets will be this summer, Morey said,

"“If Golden State makes the odds longer, we might up our risk profile and get even more aggressive. We have something up our sleeve.”"

What could this quote mean?

It seems like this statement by Daryl Morey can mean only one thing: going after star players. There are quite a few in the market this summer. From unlikely to move players like Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, to possible targets for Morey like Paul Millsap and Gordon Hayward, the possibilities are endless. Who knows, maybe the Rockets will reel in another big name player to pair with James Harden.

Another way that the Rockets can get a second star is through trades. The two popular names out there on the trade market are Paul George and Jimmy Butler. However, the Rockets do not have many assets in which to trade, so it would be difficult to pull off a blockbuster deal. It would take multiple future first round picks and then some, but with Morey anything is possible.

This quote comes shortly after the official beginning of the offseason for the NBA. Someone needs to be able to take down the Golden State Warriors, and Daryl Morey believes it can be the Houston Rockets.
