The Houston Rockets suffered their second loss tonight against the Grizzlies with the final score of 89-103.

The Grizzlies have handed the Houston Rockets (5-2) their second loss in the same week. The first loss was earlier this week on Monday.

Apparently, the Grizzlies have figured out how to take advantage of the Rockets’ weaknesses, as the team now stands 0-2 against Memphis.

Ryan AndersonClint Capela, James Harden, Luc Mbah a Moute and Trevor Ariza started for tonight’s game.  Ariza returned to the court after missing a couple games due to a foot injury.

In addition, Gordon was out due to an illness. Rocket fans and the team missed his three-point shooting and I know I did too.

No @TheofficialEG10 no chance for a win. #rockets

Unfortunately, the Houston Rockets were missing a SPARK in the backcourt and that spark was Gordon and CP3.  Jonathan Feigen tweeted that the team only had 1 point in 12 possessions, not exactly efficient.

Rockets had one point in 12 possessions, missing 9 shots with four turnovers in nearly 3 mins. It’s like missing some backcourt firepower.

TURNOVERS! Was anyone else frustrated with the number of turnovers or was that just me?  There had been a total of 16 turnovers by the start of the fourth quarter.

For the night, the total was 19. The worst part is the Grizzlies scored 24 points off those turnovers. Additionally, the Grizzlies only had 9 turnovers for the game.

Here is a look at the rest of the stats…

Stats for Rockets’ Starters:

Ryan Anderson: 22 pts, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks

James Harden: 20 pts, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals

Trevor Ariza: 10 pts, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists

Clint Capela: 12 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, steal & block

Luc Mbah a Moute: 2 rebounds and 3 assists

Anderson and Harden put up the points but there was still a lack of 3s, which was the cause of the first loss against the Grizzlies.

In last night’s game, the Rockets were 22-57 in three-pointers but tonight the team was only 14-38. Again re-emphasizing Gordon was missed out on the court. However, the Rockets cannot solely depend on Gordon to spark that three-point shooting.

Also, let me point out I was very impressed with Capela’s amount of rebounds.

WHAT NOW?

Well on the bright side, it is only the Rockets second loss. There are still many games left to be played. I have faith.

The second bright side is the Grizzlies have not played a healthy Rockets team. Chris Paul has not played the Grizzlies and again Gordon was out tonight.

Lastly, the Rockets will be back at home on Monday to take on the 76ers for the second time.  Rocket fans can only hope the team will feel more at “home” and regain some more confidence.

Therefore, STAY TUNED!
