The star for the Houston Rockets was recently seen in the American Airlines Arena playing with some players from the Miami Heat and others.

James Harden has had quite the active offseason for the Houston Rockets. In June, after the season, he was announced as the Most Valuable Player in the NBA at the Awards Show on TNT. This came after him and the Rockets were so close to knocking off the eventual champion Warriors.

He’s made some appearances elsewhere, as well. He played for a game in the Drew League, as per usual, and dominated. The Beard showed up to Team USA Training Camp as well and got to talk to his new teammate Carmelo Anthony. He’s also hosted his JH-Town Weekend charity event, the second annual one of those.

Now, James Harden is in Miami hanging out and playing with players around the league, mostly from the Miami Heat. This news comes courtesy of Alykhan Bijani of the Athletic, who also reported that P.J. Tucker was there today.

PJ Tucker is also in Miami playing pick up at the American Airlines Arena.

Miami Heat rumors

For quite a while now, the Rockets and the Heat have been linked to a potential Ryan Anderson trade deal. The Heat are looking to shed some long-term salary and unclog some positions, and the Rockets are looking to acquire one more wing defender.

Those rumors are likely just that, rumors. However, the possibility of getting someone like James Johnson or Tyler Johnson is an exciting thing to think about adding to the Rockets.

James Harden is probably just working out in Miami to get some run in before training camp, but he could also unknowingly be playing with a future teammate. For now, though, Ryan Anderson is still a Rocket and it will take some serious convincing from other teams to make that not a reality for next season.

Do you think Harden working out in Miami has any significance?
