Rockets: Adidas shows off new Harden Vol. 3 shoes

The Beard is back with his third mainline signature shoe. Adidas is here to show us what they’re all about for the star of the Houston Rockets.

James Harden has had a pretty successful career on and off the court for the Houston Rockets. On the court, he is a six-time All-Star and won his first Most Valuable Player award for his efforts last season with the team.

Off the court, he is in the midst of a huge deal with Adidas to be one of their most recognizable athletes. That includes getting signature shoes and he is gearing up for the release of his third before the season begins. This is the fourth year in Harden’s 13-year, $200 million deal from the shoe giant.

Today, the new Harden Vol. 3’s were shown off by the company. Here is a preview of what we can expect from the shoes!

Both the basic Voyager and the Cosmos colorway will be dropping before the first regular season game for the Rockets, which is on October 17.

Thoughts

Personally, I am a huge fan of the Harden Vol. 1. I picked up the Pioneer, which was the basic red and black shoes. They are fantastic and I don’t see them being topped by any other of Harden’s upcoming ones.

The Harden Vol. 2, to me, was a step down a bit. I didn’t dislike them as much as some did, but they were definitely not as good as the Vol. 1. Still, they looked decent, especially when the Beard was wearing them as he broke the ankles of Wesley Johnson.

As for the new Vol. 3, I feel like they are somewhere in the middle for me. I like the overall concept of them and we’ll have to see what other colorways come out in the future. The Cosmos version is definitely the one to get in my opinion.
