The Houston Rockets will look to win tonight after dropping a tough game against the Nuggets last night. Can they get the victory over a hot Jazz team?

The Houston Rockets are starting to feel the weight of having Clint Capela out of the starting lineup. Last night, Nikola Jokic absolutely dominated the team, going for 31 points and 13 rebounds on 12/15 shooting.

The rebounding is a huge issue right now for the Rockets as they head to Utah to take on the Jazz. If they don’t find a way to get some boards, Rudy Gobert might get 25 rebounds a game after he was not selected to join the All-Star team in Charlotte.

Kenneth Faried and Nene (should he play) will need to come ready to play tonight. Faried was great on offense, as was most of the team, last night, but had just 6 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. Small ball was also obviously not working on the defensive end of the court, as the Nuggets dropped 136 total points, including 83 in the first half alone.

This is an important game for the Rockets, who are practically tied with the Jazz in the Western Conference standings, just barely ahead in winning percentage. They are also close to being too far away for comfort for a top-2 seed, 7 games back of that. It’s time to go on a streak, starting tonight.

James Harden streak watch

James Harden is still on his historical 30-point streak after getting a last-minute 3 to fall in garbage time of last game. While it’s nice to have that still going, Harden probably should not have been playing in a blowout that late in the game. Streaks are great, but so is having your stars healthy for the future.

Chris Paul had his first great offensive game last night since returning from injury. He scored 20 points on 8/13 shooting and dished out 6 assists. Let’s hope he can start to look like he did a season ago. We’ll see if he plays tonight on the back-to-back, something the Rockets were considering sitting him out of for the rest of the year.

James Harden wins second-straight Player of the Month award. Next

Be sure to tune in tonight to watch the Rockets try to win an important game against a good Jazz team. Get this win, Houston!
