Ranking Kobe Bryant’s 6 best performances against the Houston Rockets
Following the passing of Kobe Bryant, it’s only right that we compile a list of the Black Mamba’s best games against the Houston Rockets.
The world mourned on Sunday following the unexpected death of Los Angeles Lakers’ legend Kobe Bryant. Kobe was one of the best ever, which Houston Rockets fans know all too well. Kobe’s resume speaks for itself, as he ranks the fourth-most points in league history, five NBA titles,18 All-Star appearances, and nine All-Defensive team appearances.
Kobe also has two NBA Finals MVPs to his resume and went 33-20 against the Rockets between the 1997-98 season and the 2012-13 season. During that span, Kobe averaged 27.9 points per game and had eleven 30-point games, five 40-point games, and three 50-point games against the Houston Rockets. Kobe proved to be a dominant force every time he faced the Houston Rockets, including the three times he eliminated the Rockets from postseason play.
Kobe did so much damage to the Rockets (and every other team) that it’s quite difficult to compile a list of his “best” performances because there were simply far too many. In spite of that, let’s take a look at Kobe’s top six performances against the Houston Rockets as we continue to mourn his passing. For the purposes of this list, we’re only including games in which the Lakers won.
