3. Moses Malone-March 15th, 1981

Former Houston Rockets rebounding machine Moses Malone doesn’t get enough praise among Rockets fans. Granted, Malone’s Rockets tenure only lasted six years, so it’s easy to forget about his contributions, but he’s one of the best of all-time.

Malone was able to make the 30 point-20 rebound feat look easy, which is exactly what he did in the Houston Rockets’ March 15th game of the 1980-81 season. The Rockets faced off against the Denver Nuggets, and Malone had game-highs in points and rebounds, as he scored 31 points and hauled in 23 rebounds.

Malone also recorded three blocks and three assists, although it wasn’t enough, as the Rockets were defeated 138-127. Malone had three other 30-20 games that season, and they won each of those other games. Malone finished second in points per game that season and finished first in the rebounds category.

Malone’s performance could have easily ranked atop this list but since the Rockets lost the game, he has to be penalized.
