Houston Rockets Starting Center – Kenneth Faried

Kenneth Faried made such an impact on the Rockets in 2018-19 that it’s hard to believe he only showed up in 25 games for them. The 6-8 center from New Jersey got his start with the Denver Nuggets, where he spent almost all of his NBA time.

Faried made the NBA All-Rookie First Team in the 2011-12 season and improved his scoring average each of the following two seasons. What truly made him stand out in the league was his athleticism when it came to finishing at the rim and getting up for rebounds — an ability that earned him the nickname The Manimal.

Whether it was in Denver, Brooklyn or Houston, Faried brought an infectious energy to the court that teammates and the crowd had an easy time feeding off of.

Faried showed up in 25 games for the Rockets, starting in 13 of them, and averaged 12.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in just 24 minutes per.

Unfortunately, the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement after the 2019 season, and Faried was reported to have signed in the CBA before being cut by the Zhejiang Lions.
