With Gordon playing the three spot for most of the year, why not trade him for a true small forward? Will Barton is a sharpshooter coming off his best season from deep, averaging .37.5 percent.

Even more lethal from mid-range, Barton can create his own shot and get those pivotal buckets that Houston struggled to find throughout the season. On a team that badly needs to start mixing in mid-range jumpers, his ability to do that will make the Rockets’ offense even more lethal.

Houston Rockets fans may think of him as similar to Trevor Ariza due to his ability to defend prominently from the perimeter and knock down shots from deep.

A second-round draft pick or two would be needed to sweeten the deal as the Denver Nuggets, coming off a trip to Western Conference Finals, might be keen on keeping most of the roster intact. Adding in picks could make the deal make more sense and keep it realistic.
