The Miami Heat have become a dark horse candidate to trade for the Houston Rockets’ James Harden. Here are three possible trades that would send Harden to South Beach.

James Harden continues to add teams to his list of preferred landing spots via trade for the Houston Rockets‘ front office to ponder. The most recent rumors have linked the Miami Heat, fresh off a finals trip, with Harden.

While the Heat have a multitude of high-quality NBA players to dangle in front of the Rockets, they lack the ability to include a large draft pick package. If the Heat are going to get involved in the James Harden sweepstakes they’ll have to offload a massive portion of the roster that just won them the Eastern Conference.

The Heat’s two best players, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are presumed to be off the table but their inclusion in any deal would offer the Rockets one of the best packages available. The Heat have assembled a deep and talented roster that they would have to depart with in order to land Harden, which could be a nonstarter for the organization.

However, players of James Harden’s quality rarely become available and have the ability to take their team to the next level. If the Heat believe the addition of Harden will take them from a finals participant to a league champion then they will have to consider swinging a move for the three-time scoring champ.

The Rockets won’t sell low and the Heat have the pieces to satisfy and trump just about any possible offer out there for Harden. These are three trades that the Heat could swing to snag James Harden and set their franchise up for their four NBA championship.
