The Houston Rockets had a strong preseason debut, but there are still two areas where they have clear room for improvement.

There is a lot to be optimistic about going into the regular season if you are a fan of the Houston Rockets. They won three of their four preseason games and several questions fans had prior to the preseason were answered in ways that merit excitement.

John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Christian Wood had strong preseason showings, Stephen Silas’ offense is as versatile and fun to watch as expected, and the bench is looking to have some great potential depth.

That being said, there are two areas where the Rockets could stand to see some improvement. It should be noted that improvement in these two facets is merited even if James Harden is traded.

The first of these, unfortunately, comes following a devastating injury to Chris Clemons, who will hopefully be able to make as smooth a recovery as possible and get back on the court sooner than later. This area is the backup point guard position.
