2. The Houston Rockets’ second-half scoring defense

This is not a statistic that is usually featured or shared but sometimes can be just as important. The Rockets have unfortunately had a lot of slow starts in games this year.

This shouldn’t be surprising, as the Rockets have had a slow start on the season, due to superstars wanting out, coaching changes, and changes in the front office. This has understandably led to an uneven beginning for the Rockets.

The one consistent thing, especially since the James Harden trade, is how hard the Rockets have played for coach Stephen Silas, especially in the second half.

The Rockets are fifth in points allowed in the second half of games this season. Despite their 6-9 record, the Rockets have been in most games up until the final minutes, even with their lopsided record.

This stat also shows that Coach Silas is making all of the necessary adjustments.
