Houston Rockets: Should they be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline?
By Shourya Kashyap
The Rockets should be buyers to become a contender this year
With the chemistry of the team being at an all-time high, there is no real incentive to trade away key pieces to contenders. The Rockets already have plenty of young key pieces, from Christian Wood to Jae’Sean Tate, that are proving to be a steal so far. If the players stay healthy and can continue to play the way they have, this team can compete and surprise a lot of teams in the playoffs this year.
It is not often that a team comes together the way that this Rockets team has. It would be a shame to see this team broken apart without giving them a true chance to compete for the championship. The Rockets would be taking a risk in playing out this year with the goal of being contenders, but that would still be the best move with the level of motivation this team has.
Hope the league is now on notice that the #Rockets are not to be played with. 6 in a row. Goodnight.

If the Rockets can pick up a key role player, this team has the upset capabilities that the majority of the NBA doesn’t expect. Messing with the fun vibe of this team has the potential to setup the franchise for many years of failure and that could be devastating.
About a month ago, not many would have expected the Rockets to be competitive this season after trading away their face of the franchise for a boatload of future picks. This team decided to use that noise to fuel their drive of defying all odds.
They can go on a magical run this season and becoming buyers at this trade deadline will be a key step on their journey. Rafael Stone has hit plenty of home runs since he took over for Daryl Morey, so let’s see what his next move will be.
