Houston Rockets: John Wall to Miami Heat Trade #3

The biggest obstacle in acquiring John Wall, for the Heat, will be sending out enough salary to make the deal work. Wall is owed $41.2 million this season which will mean that the Heat will have to send multiple large salaries back.

In this deal, the Rockets will land Goran Dragic and Andre Iguodala from the Heat and in the process, they’ll free up a tremendous amount of cap space for next season. Iguodala and Dragic both have team options for next season which should aid in the Rockets’ rebuilding efforts.

If the Rockets want to free up as much cap space as possible they can simply decline their player options, but if they want them to stick around or trade them then they can pick up their options. The Rockets won’t be a better team with these two, it’s not 2014 anymore, but they are high-quality veterans that could help build the team culture.

Dragic is still a solid player but at 34-years-old he doesn’t offer the same upside that Wall does and Iguodala is a shell of the player he once was. Miami makes the top of their rotation better in this deal and the Rockets can really get into their rebuild effort.
