Houston Rockets: Golden State Warriors trade asset #1: James Wiseman

James Wiseman, the number 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, has been in and out of the Warriors’ starting lineup all season. Sometimes due to injuries and other times due to lack of production in his rookie year.

Wiseman, however, has shown the abilities that made him the number two overall pick in last year’s draft. It goes without question that Wiseman would be the Rocket’s first choice in any trade involving the Warriors.

He would instantly fit into the Rockets youth movement and move Christian Wood to his more natural position at power forward. A Wood and Wiseman frontcourt would give the Rockets one of the best young frontcourts in the league.

Of course, the Warriors would be reluctant to trade away a potential All-Star in his first year in the league. Even with the Rocket’s draft picks, it would be a long shot considering the Warriors already have the Minnesota Timberwolves pick this year ( top 4 protected). Still, this would be the first player you would ask about in any Oladipo trade if you are the Rockets.

As mentioned, some of these trades would be long shots as the Warriors don’t have a lot of assets that they would be willing to let go of for Oladipo. So this is more from a Rockets perspective as to who would be at the top of their list of players in any Warriors trade, especially if Oladipo is involved. The trade deadline is coming in fast, so there will be no shortage of trade speculation and rumors involving the Houston Rockets.
