Houston Rockets target #2: Richaun Holmes

Another name that hasn’t been widely discussed as it pertains to the Houston Rockets’ free agency plans is Richaun Holmes. Holmes, this past season, had a career-high in points, blocks, rebounds, and free throw percentage.

Holmes isn’t big that will stretch a defense out to the beyond the arc but he’s shown the ability to make mid-range shots and score around the basket. As seen in these highlights, Holmes is a versatile big that holds his own in the paint.

Holmes is also a good shot-blocker who can move his feet vs. smaller guards. Holmes would also make it easier to move Christian Wood to his more natural position at power forward.

Holmes is only 27-years-old, so he would still fit in with the Rockets’ current timeline. This year Holmes made a little over $5 million but will all but certainly make at least three times or more per year on the next deal that he signs.
