The Houston Rockets went all in on a championship push in the offseason, and that included adding Clint Capela via sign-and-trade in the Kevin Durant deal. The two well-established veterans joined the Rockets in a seven-team move that was bigger than any trade before it. Dorian Finney-Smith was also added to the roster in free agency, and numerous players from last year's roster were re-signed.

One such player who was brought back was Steven Adams, and with Alperen Sengun and Jabari Smith Jr. also on the roster, the Rockets have quite the logjam in the frontcourt. There is no such thing as too much depth, but Capela is paying the consequences for the lack of minutes to go around. In limited time, the center has proven that he deserves more playing time, though.

As of now, Sengun is starting at and playing most of his minutes at the four. The Turkish superstar made an All-Star Game as a center, but the Rockets like what he brings to the table as a power forward. He offers nightly positional size advantages against opponents, and by playing the four, his playmaking ability really stands out.

Plus, Sengun thrives on the court at the same time as Adams. As the new starting center, Adams can guard the league's elite opposing centers with physicality, while also doing the dirty work, such as setting screens and collecting rebounds. That allows Sengun to focus on what he is best at: scoring and passing.

Smith Jr. has played small ball five before, but he is now starting at the three, and Durant and Amen Thompson are absolutely huge for the shooting guard and point guard positions. The jumbo unit has been effective so far, especially on the defensive end. It has come at the expense of Capela finding much of a role, though.

The center who, started his career in Houston, isn't the caliber of player he was during his first stint with the Rockets, but he has looked like he belongs through six games thus far. Capela is only playing 10 minutes per game, though, by far the fewest of the everyday rotation players. He isn't the physical presence that Adams is, but he brings more to the table on offense because of his play-finishing ability. Capela can score off alley-oops, putbacks, and paint touches.

He is also more of a shot blocking presence on defense, which could be beneficial for a team that focuses as much on that end of the floor as the Rockets do. Adams is not an 82-game player. Injuries have limited him in the past, and they will likely force him out of action again at some point this season. Therefore, Capela's time to shine will come eventually.

The big man deserves to play more right now, though, and Ime Udoka should make a decision to cut into Adams' minutes. In certain matchups, Adams makes more sense, but there are games on the schedule in which Capela should have more court time. Sometimes, neither of them should even play much, as Sengun can still produce as a center. At the end of the day, the Rockets have options, but Capela has the talent to play more than the 10 minutes per game he is currently at.
