Minnesota Timberwolves: Karl-Anthony Towns

This is the type of name some readers have been waiting for. On the other hand, some fans are bristling - why Karl-Anthony Towns?

Please don't mistake this for an endorsement. We're just speculating. The Wolves have a challenging cap situation, and the Rockets seem like they're ready to make a playoff push. If Towns is available, they're likely to at least take a look at him.

In theory, he may be able to play with Alperen Sengun. Towns has improved on defense - that pairing won't be strong on that end, but their offensive potency could be enough to make up for that deficit.

Alternatively, Towns could replace Sengun. His ability to space the floor should bring more out of Amen Thompson and Jalen Green. Either way, he's a trade candidate for Rockets fans to keep an eye on.

Los Angeles Clippers: Mo Bamba

Were you expecting a certain bearded individual?

Quit dreaming. James Harden may don Rockets red again, but it'll be part of a retirement tour. We wouldn't expect to see him on this roster while he's still earning a superstar's paycheck.

Meanwhile, Bamba hasn't met expectations in his NBA career. We still think there's a valuable backup role left in his career. Bamba's portability as a big man who spaces the floor (a little) and defends the rim (at times) should make him a useful NBA player.

If the Clippers aren't happy with their position at the deadline, he could look useful on the Rockets.
